Bangladeshi photographer and activist Shahidul Alam is aboard the Conscience, the final ship of the Global Sumud Flotilla, sailing to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza.
On October 2, Israeli forces intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla, a fleet of 42 civilian vessels attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and break the 18-year-long illegal blockade. Over 450 activists, journalists, and medical professionals were abducted in international waters, a violation of international law and a continuation of Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians.
