NATO presents itself as a defensive alliance built on democracy and collective security. Its record reveals something very different: from Yugoslavia to Libya, NATO interventions have destabilised entire regions, deepened Europe’s dependency on US arms, and expanded militarisation into Asia.
NATO reinvented itself as a global enforcer after the Cold Wat. It has labelled migration a “hybrid threat,” justified wars under the banner of “humanitarian protection,” and ensured that billions are redirected from social needs into weapons and military build-ups.
As NATO stretches its mandate from the Mediterranean to the Indo-Pacific, its actions continue to secure US primacy rather than world peace. It is not a shield of democracy, but the most dangerous organisation on Earth.
