The Polis Project, Inc. is a New York-based global magazine of dissent that documents communities in resistance at the intersection of politics, art, and culture. We are a hybrid research and journalism organization. Our work exposes the rise of authoritarianism—especially in democracies—while centering racial, class, and caste injustices, Islamophobia, and state oppression worldwide.
