To interpret the world, is to change it

The POLIS PROJECT is an independent, and not for profit humanities collective offering research internships to students, volunteers and others to work on our Political Violence and Justice Dataset.

During the internship, our researchers will be trained in research methods, and how to build data sets,  exposed to the most up-to-date theories, methods, and information related to the study and the analysis of political violence.

  • Their primary responsibility includes reading the newspaper archives to collect data about political violence and input that data into Excel Sheet.
  • Interns must have strong reading and writing skills in English.
  • The Polis Project’s internship program is open to undergraduate, graduate students (as well as some recent graduates) in any related discipline from any institution, and others interested in learning how to build and work with datasets.
  • Each internship lasts for a minimum of three months. For these positions, we are only recruiting students who can commit a minimum of three months
  • Interns must work at least 12 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters and 20 hours/week during the summer.
  • Our internships can be undertaken for academic credit, and this is highly encouraged. All interns work remotely and need to check-in via Skype for the weekly conference.
